BEVERLY - Mr. John Arthur Little, 75, of Beverly, beloved husband of Cathy Ann (O'Donnell) Little, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at his home.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Boyle) Little. He was raised and educated in Salem and attended the former St. Mary's School in Salem.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Navy.

As a young man, Mr. Little had been employed at St. Mary's Cemetery in Salem. He matriculated to working for the City of Salem, Public Works Department and most recently at Greenlawn Cemetery in Salem until the time of his retirement in 2006.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, John was a kind and generous man. His favorite past time was listening to the police scanner and keeping informed on the local news and happenings. He was an all-around nice guy. A devoted grandfather, he enjoyed spending his time with his wife and family. He will be deeply missed. He was a long-time resident of the City of Beverly and previously had resided in the City of Salem for many years.

John is survived by his loving wife of 14 years and companion of over 30 years, Cathy Ann (O'Donnell) Little of Beverly, his son, Yancy O'Donnell and his wife Debra of Franklin, N.H., his grandson, Brendan O'Donnell, his brother William D. Little and his wife Luanna of Beverly, his sisters, Nancy Gaudreault of Salem and Joan Hersey of Beverly and several nieces and nephews and extended family. He was the brother of the late Margaret Bryson.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Friday, Jan. 11th at 10 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday, Jan. 10th from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in John's memory to St Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105.
