BOXFORD – Mr. Robert Andrew Keyes 87, of Rowley, formerly of Boxford, beloved husband of Margaret (Dandurand) Keyes, died Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Archibald and Mary (DuPaul) Keyes. He was raised and educated in Southbridge and was a graduate of Mary Wells High School in Southbridge. He continued his education at General Motors Institute in Michigan.

Mr. Keyes began his professional career with the General Motors Group as a Salesman with the A.C. Spark Plug division. He matriculated to NYNEX Telephone Company, which later became Verizon, and worked for many years as a lead Salesman of Yellow Page advertisements until the time of his retirement.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Robert cherished time spent with family. He was active in the Telephone Communications Union and was elected Vice President. He enjoyed spending his time golfing, skiing in the winters and crossword puzzles yet his truest devotion was to his family. He was a zealous grandfather supporting his beloved grandchildren in all of their endeavors and never missed an opportunity to share quality time and experiences with them. He was a kind, supportive and loving man who will be deeply missed.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret (Dandurand) Keyes, his children, Robert A. Keyes Jr. and his wife Terry of Mill Valley, CA, Marty Jaxheimer and her husband Eric of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Sarah Claflin and her husband Paul of Newburyport and Mary Ellen Wells and her husband Greg of Wyomissing, PA, his beloved grandchildren, Jennifer, Christine, Michael, Katie, Amy, Sarah, Brian, Abby, Meghan and Corey, his 7 great grandchildren and several nieces, and nephews. He was the brother of the late George Keyes.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary's Church, 94 Andover St., Georgetown, Friday, Nov. 2nd at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge, Saturday, Nov 3rd at 10:30 A.M.. Visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Friday, Nov. 2nd, prior to the funeral, from 9 to 11 A.M..
