Obituary

PLAISTOW, N.H. – Mr. Steven Craig Smith 49, of Plaistow, N.H., formerly Topsfield, MA died unexpectedly Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill.

Steven was the son of Margaret (Inglis) Smith and the late James Smith. He was a graduate of Masconomet Regional High School, after which he pursued his passion for working on cars.

He was employed as a mechanic for many years in and around the North Shore area until a back injury limited this pursuit. Undaunted he continued to devote his time to his family. He was coach for his children's little league teams.

A loving father, son, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time with his children taking them camping, fishing and skiing. He had a love of dogs, especially his big Newfy Jack and his Labradors. He was a long-time member of the competitive dart league in Amesbury and enjoyed the comradery and competition. He leaves a lasting legacy of love and devotion to his family and will be remembered for his kindheartedness and devotion to his family.

Steven is survived by his children, Shane Smith and his partner Courtney Halliday, Hannah Smith and Tyler Smith all of Plaistow, N.H., his mother, Margaret (Inglis) Smith of Boxford, his granddaughter, Lyla Rose Smith, his sister, Heather Betts and her husband Cameron of Strong, Maine, his brothers, Gordon Smith and his wife Andrea of Monroe, Ct., Graham Smith and his wife Danette of Windham, N.H. and Andrew Smith and his wife Yulia of Boxford and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte. 62) Danvers, Saturday, May 12th at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. Visiting hours Friday, May 11th from 4 to 7 P.M.
