PEABODY – Mr. Thomas J. McGlone 95, of Brooksby Village, Peabody, beloved husband of Dorothy Pickett-McGlone and the late Anita (Lynch) McGlone, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Brooksby Village in Peabody.

Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, he was the son of the late James and Wahlburga (Lynch) McGlone. He was raised and educated in Norwalk and was a graduate of Norwalk High School.

An honorably discharged veteran he served his country as a member of the United States Army - 809 Engineers Battalion in World War II.

Mr. McGlone worked as a salesman for Stainless-Steel Pipe & Fittings in both New York and Boston until the time of his retirement in 1995. He spent his entire career in the Stainless-Steel Industry.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Tom was a long-time resident of the Town of Boxford prior to moving to Brooksby Village in 2009. He was active in civic and social circles, including membership in the Georgetown Knights of Columbus and the Boston Bo Sox Clubs. He was an avid reader and amateur novelist. He enjoyed spending his time playing cribbage, and was a member of the Brooksby theatre group, and volunteered at the Treasure Chest at Brooksby Village.

He was a dedicated family man and was always on the sidelines of his children's and grandchildren's events; cheering them on and giving words of encouragement along the way. He never missed a game or event and beamed with pride just seeing his family have fun. He will be deeply missed.
