Condolence & Memory Journal

You could not find a sweeter, kinder lady. Around 50 years ago, I was given a lovely ring by one of her sons. I was at the Paul home one evening and for some reason I had taken the ring off, and then I couldn't find it. Everyone helped me look. I was heartbroken as I was to go on a trip very soon and did not want to travel without my ring. That night, Marion had a dream, and got up out of bed and went out into the backyard and tipped over the barrel that the family used to burn their rubbish in, raked through the ashes and found my ring. Apparently I had placed it in an ashtray and it had been thrown out. I was unbelievably relieved and was able to wear my scorched ring on my trip.
I remember a few years later, pulling into her driveway and finding that the house had been on fire. (I was living out of state) I did find Marion at her daughter Pat's and was relieved to find that everyone was okay, and the only injury suffered was a burn Marion got on her foot when she went back to get the cat (Inky) I had given to her. I was able so spend some time with Marion helping her to peel some pictures out of a partially burned and water-damaged album. Her pictures meant a lot to her.
I'm so glad that she had such a happy, full life.

Our eldest American cousin has left our midst and I pray for blessings of good memories for you, her family! The Flynn relatives have always been special to our Dad's heart as he dearly loved Marion's mother and his big sister, Bernadette. Marion and Dad set up a penpal relationship between Patsy and myself when we were in high school, so that helped keep the cousin connections alive. We are sorry not to be able to travel to Boston this time and we will remember you especially on Tuesday as you pray your goodbyes.

Cousin Marion always reminded me (with a pat on the hand) that we had to stick together as she was the oldest and I the youngest cousin. She loved our Christmas letters with news of her PEI cousins. NKURShe will always be remembered fondly. May she rest in peace.
