DANVERS – Mr. Donald H. Jacobson 77, of Danvers, beloved husband of Eileen A. (Johnson) Jacobson, died Sunday, May 14, 2017.

Mr. Jacobson was devoted to his country and was a longtime member of the United States Army National Guard.

Mr. Jacobson was the Co-Proprietor of his family's business, Custom Auto Body of Revere. He worked alongside his father and brother until the business was sold. Retirement was not in his vocabulary so he continued to work for Paul Revere Bus Company as a driver in the Airport Bus Transportation Division until the time of his illness.

A 32-year resident of the Town of Danvers, Don was a longtime member of the Maple Street Congregational Church in Danvers and an active member of the Maple Street Church's Men's Club. He was a member of the Good Samaritan Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Reading. He was passionate about his work but in his free time he enjoyed fishing and working in the garden. He had traveled to Alaska several times to fish. He was a true animal lover and always had canine and feline companions. He was a very kind and compassionate man who was devoted to his wife, son and family and will be deeply missed.

Don is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Eileen A. (Johnson) Jacobson of Danvers, his son Kristofor Jacobson of Danvers, his sister Barbara Dorsey and her husband Brian of Homosassa, Fl, his brother Roy Jacobson and his wife Ellie of Gardnerville, Nevada, several nieces and nephews, his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and Eric Diamond of Ctr. Ossipee, NH and Joy Johnson of Sanbornville, NH.

For the 17 plus years that I knew Don as a friendly neighbor, he was a fixture working around his house and yard. You could tell he enjoyed it and took pride in his work. Many of the countless times I'd walk by with my dogs, Don would be quick with a wave and a smile, as well as a pat on the head for my canine companions. We also had the occasional chat, which often times would end with us both enjoying a good laugh. And if I had a nickel for every time he'd walk or drive by looking to collect his beloved Bailey and Tucker, who both enjoyed exploring the neighborhood and nature as much as Don himself!

I will miss Don and am saddened by his passing. I extend my sincere condolenses to Eileen and Kris, and offer my prayers and support duiring this difficult time. May Don rest in peace.
