Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Pat by adding your memories and photos.

MIDDLETON - Patrick John Killelea, age 33, of Middleton, MA died Monday, February 5th, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Patrick is survived by his mother Marianne of Middleton, his sister Megan Killelea and her fiancé Brendan Shields of Boston, his brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Anne Killelea and his niece Mae of Charlestown, and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, John.

Patrick was born on February 16th, 1984. A true 80's baby, Pat loved anything loud, colorful and charismatic. He was full of life and put his whole heart into everything he did. Whether it was sprinting down the soccer field, spending time with family and friends or tossing himself off ski jumps, everywhere Pat went he made an impression on the people he met.

Pat suffered a traumatic brain injury in March of 2006 after arriving in Colorado for a ski trip with his friends. His family, devastated by the change in his life, committed themselves to Pat's recovery and in giving him the best life possible. While Pat was never able to walk or speak again, he quickly adapted to new norms and never lost his sense of humor or contagious smile. The quality of life he experienced over the last 12 years was more than many fit into a lifetime. Pat traveled to Mexico, New Orleans, the Jersey Shore and many other places to experience new treatments, see family and friends and feel the wind on his face and the sand on his toes.

Pat was able to experience so many wonderful moments. Whether it was family parties, Super Bowls, holidays, weddings or the birth of his niece, Pat was always present. His family is going to miss him more than words can express, but they are grateful for all of the time they had together. Everyone hopes that Pat's experience shows others the possibility of a fulfilling life after a traumatic injury such as his. The love of family, friends, nurses and doctors is the one constant in life and the Killeleas are so thankful for their enormous support system.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from the Peterson O'Donnell Funeral home on Saturday, February 10th at 9:45 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in St. Agnes Church, Boston St., Middleton at 10:30 A.M.
