DANVERS – Mrs. Arlene Marie Licata Miller 72, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Arthur F. Miller, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 3, 2019 at her home.

Born in Stamford, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Susan (Bria) Licata. She was raised and educated in Greenwich, CT. She continued her education at Sacred Heart University earning her Bachelor's Degree, then going on to earn her Master's in Social Work.

Mrs. Licata Miller was a devoted Marriage and Family Counselor on the North Shore for over 40 years. She also worked with the North Shore Council for Alcoholism. She was honored to have provided support to many individuals and families over the years.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Arlene was an avid antique collector and enjoyed spending her weekends "hunting" for unique treasures. A kind and extremely thoughtful person, she endeared herself to many and found great peace in the camaraderie of her community of fellow therapists, both professionally and socially.

Arlene was a very positive person in every way and continually saw the bright side of life. She was generous, a fierce fighter for the causes and people she believed in. She was always there for her family and friends and would do all within her power to help. She loved her home and hosting gatherings for family and friends there. She always knew the perfect present to give: one with meaning and love. She was a loyal friend, of great council to many and a truly special woman. She will be deeply missed.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Danielle Miller Simbajon and her husband John of Medford, her stepdaughter, Michelle Hannah Adams and her husband John of Boston and her grandchildren, Sofya Gurel and Mini Gurel, her sisters, Dorothy Anni and her husband Anthony of York, ME and Rosemary Overacker and her husband Brett of New Canaan, CT., her brother, Frank Licata and his wife Kathy of Washington Crossing, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jean Germanowicz.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service which will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Saturday, Feb. 9th at 11 A.M. Candle

I am so sorry to hear of Arlene's passing. She was my therapist for several years and she was the one person that got me through a very hard time in my life. I am convinced that no one else could have helped me as she did. She will always have a place in my heart. How blessed we all are to have known her.
