Condolence & Memory Journal

I spent quite a bit of time at the Welch household as a young lad as Rick and John are my age. Mrs. Welch was very engaging and I will always remember her smile. In later years when we returned to visit Salem, my mother and I always looked forward to her reminiscing of our earlier years on Surrey Road. She had a big part in making the neighborhood what is was - a great place to grow up. She raised a great family.

I lived next door to the Welch family my entire childhood. Rick and John were my friends with Suzanne and Sandy as babysitters. Mrs Welch was a constant and calming presence in the neighborhood. Her family is her legacy. My condolences to all.

Thoughts coming your way from Florida, John. Your mom - and your whole family - will be remembered at Mass. Peace, Kevin MacDonald. PS. She would have worked with my father at the Boston and Maine Railroad.
