PEABODY – Mrs. Barbara Ann (Lindstol) Curtis, 89, of Brooksby Village, Peabody, MA passed away peacefully July 3, 2019 at her home.

Born, January 23, 1930 in Chelsea, Barbara was the daughter of the late Carl F. and Mabel (Bevens) Lindstol. She attended Revere public schools and was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1948 and Framingham College, Class of 1952. Upon graduation, Barbara taught in the Revere school system.

Beloved wife to Richard E. Curtis on October 18, 1952, the couple was blessed with three children. Richard Curtis preceded her in death on January 22, 2016 after 64 years of marriage.

A 27-year resident of Boxford, MA, Barbara previously lived in North Hampton, N.H. prior to moving to Brooksby Village in Peabody. Barbara's children remember her as an energetic and committed woman who encouraged her children to pursue their goals. She was an accomplished seamstress, baker - especially the 45 different varieties of Christmas cookies she lovingly baked for family, friends and customers of Curtis and Darling Buttons over the years. She excelled at being an organist, figure skater and ice dancer and at the age of 72, competitive horse rider and jumper. Barbara was an ardent dog lover. For decades she was a devoted member of the American Kennel Club as she raised and showed her beloved Great Danes.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: daughter Joyce E. Curtis of Boxford; sons Paul R. Curtis and his wife Charlene of Newtown, PA and David C. Curtis and his wife Nancy of Boxford; her two grandchildren Susan C. Weigel and Brett R. Curtis. She was the sister of Carol Erickson and her husband Ramey of Rutland, MA and the late Norma Roberts; along with a host of devoted nieces and nephews.
