Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John E. Sr. and Josephine Ann (Sullivan) Riley. She was one of 12 children, raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of the former St. James Girls School and St. James Girls High School. She continued her education at the former St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Demeule spent over 50 years caring for others professionally as a Registered Nurse. She began her career with the former J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody and matriculated to Twin Oaks Nursing Home and the Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers until the time of her retirement in 2013. She loved her profession and was well-regarded for her bedside manner and care with which she imparted to her charges. She truly put her heart and soul into taking care of the in-firmed. It was part of who she was, a loving and devoted woman.

She was a long-time resident of the Town of Danvers, Rosemary was devoted to her family. If you were in need, she was there in an instant ready to extend a helpful hand. She loved flowers, the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and revered in becoming a grandmother. She found her true passion in being "Mimi" to her beloved granddaughters. "Mimi" loved doting on them by going to movies, the North Shore Music Theater, all their school and extracurricular activities, and imparting her passion for shopping on to her little ones.
