SALEM - Mrs. Lucile "Lil" (Crowson) Sosnowski, 95, beloved wife of the late Frank J. Sosnowski, died Friday, October 25, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Chester, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Monnie (Kyle) Crowson. She grew up on a farm in Mississippi with thirteen brothers and sisters. A graduate of Chester Consolidated High School, she went on to work in a government program known as N.Y.A. started by President F.D.R, to give work to the youth of America during the Depression of the 30's and 40's. She later worked in a garment factory.

Lucile was an honorably discharged veteran of WWII who served stateside with the United States Navy W.A.V.E.S. where she met and married Frank the love of her life, a marriage that lasted 70 years.

Moving to Salem, Frank's hometown, after discharge, they built a house that became a home after the birth of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After coming to Salem, Lucile was a graduate of Essex Academy of Beauty Culture, Salem Commercial School and retired from Shaughnessy Kaplan Hospital as a seamstress.

Spending time with her family was the "best of times". She loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, gardening, fishing, playing cards and reading. She loved going to Foxwoods and Las Vegas. She was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Church, where she volunteered in their thrift shop for many years.

Lucile is survived by her son, Frank and his wife Andrea, her daughter, Maureen, grandsons Frank and Kyle, granddaughters, Suzanne, Luella and Kayla; great-grandsons, Ethan, Frankie Jr. and Falcon; great-granddaughters, Lucille, Donna, Annaliese and Saylor, her sister Jean and sister-in-law Theresa, son-in-law, Steven and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Diane and twelve siblings

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass which will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd, Salem on Wednesday, October 30th at 12:30 P.M. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Assisting the family with the arrangements is The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem.
