BEDFORD – Mr. George J. "Bud" Moriarty, Jr. 79 of Bedford Veterans Administration Hospital, formerly of Beverly, beloved husband of the late Kathleen M. (MacDonald) Moriarty, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2020 at the VA Hospital with his family by his side.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late George J. and Rosella A. (Murphy) Moriarty. Raised and educated in Lynn, he attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers. He later continued his education at Northeastern University.

An honorably discharged veteran, Mr. Moriarty served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.

Throughout his professional career, Bud had been employed as an Executive Assistant in the Airlines Industry with both Continental Braniff and Midwest Airlines.

A loving and devoted husband, brother and uncle, Bud loved to spend time with his family making new memories and sharing old stories. His love for his wife Kathy was undeniable and he missed her dearly after her recent passing in 2019. Bud was kind, funny and a joy to be around, he will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Bud is survived by his brothers, Richard Moriarty and his wife Patricia of High Point, NC and John Moriarty and his wife Patricia of Amesbury, his sister-in-law, Beverly Carter and her husband Richard of Middleton and many nieces and nephews including Janice Fischer of Wilmington.
