Obituary

DANVERS – Mr. Harold Joseph Thibodeau 89 of Danvers and Ft. Myers, Florida, beloved husband of Mary Rosalyn (Thibeau) Thibodeau, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Winchester Hospital.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Archie and RoseAnn (Comeau) Thibodeau. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. He continued his education at Wentworth Institute and various other institutions.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army.

Mr. Thibodeau had been employed for many years with the General Electric Company in the Aircraft Division. He worked his way up to become the Manager of the Quality Systems of G.E. Aircraft, Eastern Division. He was known for his attention to detail and his consistent work ethic. He was admired for his management style and his ability to relate to all of those in his charge. He was a member of the Elphin Club and the Quarter Century Club at the G.E.

Harold had a very serious profession and career, yet many nights after work he loved to unwind and did so as a member of the 9:29ers, a banjo band out of Wakefield. They performed all over the North Shore and Harold was the band Master of Ceremonies. He loved this part of his life and enjoyed sharing his love of music with others. He was also an avid golfer and member of the pool league in retirement. He resided for many years in the Town of Danvers and Ft. Myers Florida in the winters. He was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Rosalyn (Thibeau) Thibodeau, his daughters, Donna Thibodeau of Danvers and Diane Scali and her husband John of Salem, N.H., his grandchildren, Justin Scali, Jenna Scali and Jared Scali and his wife Laura, his sister-in-law Mary Therese Aylward of Lynn and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Helen Tullercash, Blanche Russo, Mildred Murray, Theresa Giggey and Clifford, Donald and Edward Thibodeau.
