Obituary for Rosemary Gertrude (Peachey) L'Abbe

March 6, 1934 - September 29, 2018
Beverly, Massachusetts | Age 84

BEVERLY - Rosemary Gertrude (Peachey) L'Abbe, 84, of Beverly, wife of 60 years to the late Ronald L'Abbe, died peacefully Saturday, September 29, 2018 at her daughter's home.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Alviah and Gertrude (Nyman) Peachey. She was raised in Middleton, and educated in both the Middleton and Danvers Public Schools.

Mrs. L'Abbe was employed for 23 years by the Joseph B. Devlin Nursing Home in Lynn until the time of her retirement in 2000. Many years ago, she worked for the Ideal Baby Shoe Company in Danvers and the Middleton Greenhouse in Middleton.

Throughout her life, Rosemary enjoyed crocheting, painting ceramics, and watching the cooking channel. She became most famous for her delicious fudge which she made for family and friends. She especially loved shopping at Macy's. During the holiday season she enjoyed painting pieces of a Christmas village which she proudly displayed in her home.

Rosemary loved to have fun. She traveled to Las Vegas and Foxwoods, and always made sure to routinely have her hair and nails done. She enjoyed the "glitz and glamour" moments of life. She was devoted to her family. Her biggest joy was her 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, along with her "Peachey" brothers and sisters. They meant the world to her. She will be most remembered for her generous heart, her loving spirit, and her contagious smile.
