PEABODY- Mrs. Carmella (Lombardo) DiModica 87, of Peabody, beloved wife of the late Salvatore DiModica, died Tuesday, Nov. 15th, 2016.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Vincenza (Baffo) Lombardo. She was raised and educated in Boston and has resided in Peabody for the last 45 years.

Mrs. DiModica had been employed with Ionics as an assembler for over 20 years until the time of her retirement at the age of 70.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Carmella enjoyed spending her time sewing, reading and cooking. An expert sewer, she hand made many of the clothing she wore as a woman throughout her life and was always on the cutting edge of style. She was deeply loved and will be missed.

Carmella is survived by her son Joseph DiModica of Everett, her grandchildren, Karen DiVincent, Christopher DiModica, Katelin DiModica, Stacey DiModica and Jonathan Grover, her great grandchildren, Kyle, Hailey and Cole DiVincent and Jameson, Wesley and Lucas DiModica, her sisiter Rose Buonopane of Medford and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Dominic DiModica and the sister of the late Biagio and James Lombardo.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers, Monday, Nov. 21st at 12 noon. Relatives and friends invited.
