MIDDLETON- Dawn Louise (Harrigan) Hutchins, 85, of Middleton, formerly of Hampstead, NH, passed away surrounded by her children, family, and grandchildren, Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 at Beverly Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Portsmouth, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Edward H. Harrigan and Marion L. Moore. She was raised and educated in Melrose and Gloucester and was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1949. She continued her education at Beverly Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1952 and earned her Registered Nurses Degree in 1963. She was a woman ahead of her time as an independent career woman.

As a young mother, Dawn and her family lived in Stanton and Garden Grove California. She returned home to her family roots to settle in Massachusetts in 1968. She moved north to Maine and New Hampshire in 1975 after raising her children.

Dawn loved to paint, knit, square dance, and had a deep love and passion for Blue Grass and Country Music. She was quite fond of animals throughout her life. In her younger years she spend hours in the stable with beloved horses. In her later years she shared her home with birds and cats as companions.

Truly an artist at heart, Dawn chose to capture the world in painted portraits and landscapes on canvas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, cousin, and dear friend to many co-workers and neighbors and will be deeply missed.
