NEWBURYPORT- Mrs. Diane Rae (Gage) Risoldi, 60, of Newburyport, formerly of Middleton, beloved wife of Frederick Lee Risoldi, died Monday, November 28, 2016 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded by her family following a courageous 6 1/2 year battle with breast cancer.
Diane was the daughter of Jean L. (Kuell) Gage and the late Norman F. Gage. She was raised and educated in Middleton and was a graduate of Masconomet Regional High School, class of 1974.
Diane was introduced to Freddie, the love of her life, at a friend's wedding, and they married on October 22, 1978. After raising their four beautiful children, she worked at Shaw's of Newburyport for 10 years, and more recently at Cabot Stain for 11 years until her retirement.
A woman of great strength and humor, Diane was devoted to her husband and family. She loved and adored her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as possible. She enjoyed handcrafting beautiful quilts for her loved ones, as well as scrapbooking. She cherished her ladies weekends in Rangeley, Maine, as well as her visits to the beach. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her bright smile, her legendary sauce and meatballs, her contagious laughter, and her courage and unwavering positive attitude even in the most trying times. Her spirit for life attracted many people to her side and she loved them all. She will be deeply missed.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Frederick Lee Risoldi of Newburyport, her mother, Jean L. (Kuell) Gage of Middleton, her children, Tina Ferrari and her partner Russell Amirault of Lowell, Tiffany Tsoutsouris and her husband Christian of San Diego, CA, Sharon Prendergast and her husband Nicholas of Georgetown and Thomas Risoldi and his partner Anna Aia of Peabody, her 7 grandchildren, her sister Karen J. McAskill and her husband Stephen of Amesbury, her brother Ronald N. Gage and his wife Denise of Ipswich and several nieces and nephews and many friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Middleton Congregational Church, 66 Maple St., Middleton, Saturday, Dec. 3rd at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Beverly Farms Cemetery is private. Visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Friday, Dec. 2nd from 4 to 8 P.M.
