SALEM- Mrs. Dorothy M. (Lendall) Slaven 89, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Lawrence C. Slaven Sr., died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Ledgewood Nursing Home in Beverly.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Henry J. and May "Belle" (Riley) Lendall. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.

Mrs. Slaven had been employed with the New England Telephone Company at its Norman Street location for over 25 years until the time of her retirement.

A lifelong resident of the City of Salem, Dorothy was devoted to her family. She was active at the Salem Senior Center and was a member of the Aging Golden Tones choral group. She was an honorary life member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 18 in Salem. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great, great grandmother, Dorothy will be deeply missed.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Grocki and her husband John of Salem and Brenda White and her husband Kevin of Harrison, Maine, her sons, Lawrence Slaven Jr and his wife Sally of Peabody and Michael Slaven and his wife Cathy of Salem, her nineteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She was the mother of Roger, Kenneth and Jeffrey Slaven and grandmother of the late Adam Slaven.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in The O'Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common) Salem, Wednesday, March 9th at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited.
