DANVERS- Mrs. Eleanor Shirley (Toleos) McAlpine 87, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Richard Sinclair McAlpine, died Wednesday, Nov. 16th, 2016 at the Fairwiew Nursing Center in Hudson, New Hampshire.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie (Stever) Toleos. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.
Mrs. McAlpine had been associated with her husband and son as the owners of Skips Country Store in Rowley for many years. She previously has been associated with Ann & Hope of Danvers.
A resident of the Town of Danvers Since 1959, she was a member of the Holy Trinity United Methodist Church in Danvers, a former member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Peabody and a former member of the Cy Tenney Club in West Peabody. For many years had volunteered at the former Hunt Hospital in Danvers and along with her husband moved to Londonderry, N.H in 2005 and more recently to Hudson, N.H..
Eleanor is survived by her daughter Barbara J. Cronk and her husband Fred of Beverly, her son Richard J. McAlpine of Manchester, N.H., her grandchildren, Kevin Cronk & his wife Kristin and Katie Mallett and her husband Donald, her great grandson Benjamin Cronk, her brother, Theodore Toleos of Florida, her brother-in-law Bob McAlpine and his wife June and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Nicholas, Arthur, Charles, Thomas, Leo and Virginia Toleos.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte. 26) Danvers, Monday, Nov. 21st from 4 to 7 P.M. All other services are private. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Eleanor's memory to the Amedisys Inc., Attention Amedisys Foundation, 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
