TOPSFIELD- Mrs. Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Simms) Booye, 83, of Topsfield, beloved wife of the late Lawrence Donald Booye, died Monday October 24, 2016 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Cheivers) Simms. Raised and educated in Atlantic City Betty was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School.
Mrs. Booye had been employed as an Operator for Bell Telephone for many years. After raising her family, Betty returned to the work force and was the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Vice Principal at Masconomet Regional High School for 28 years.
A loving mother and grandmother, Betty created a loving and supportive environment for her family in many ways, including; embracing the true meaning of holidays, celebrating birthdays, nurturing physical, emotional and spiritual health and through her actions, teaching the importance of honesty, faith and unconditional love. Betty was proud that her children earned college degrees and found happiness in life.
A longtime resident of the Town of Topsfield, Betty was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Parish and a proud volunteer in her town. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends, whose lives she touched over the years.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Murphy of North Andover and Patricia Logan and her husband Jeff of Groveland, her six grandchildren, her brother George Simms and his wife Nancy of Georgia and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Dorothy Broderick and Barbara Simkins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be held in St. Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield on Friday October 28, 2016 at 1 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. A Visitation will be held at the church, prior to Mass, from 12 to 1P.M. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Rte 62) Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Betty's memory to Masconomet Scholarship Fund, 20 Endicott Rd., Boxford, MA 01921, C/O Olga Langlois.
