SALEM- Mrs. Helen M. (Swiscz) Canty 97, of Salem, beloved wife of the late John J. Canty Jr. died November 12, 2015 at her home following a brief illness.

Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Dimitri and Mary (Vlodika) Swiscz. She was raised and educated in Peabody and attended Peabody Schools.

Mrs. Canty was a long time dedicated Nursing Assistant at various nursing homes on the North Shore. She spent many years of her career at the Lafayette Nursing Home in Marblehead.

Helen was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She enjoyed playing Bingo and spent much of free time perfecting the gardens and look of her yard. She took great pride in her horticulture and beauty of her yard.

Whenever they hit the dance floor all eyes were on the Canty couple as their love for each other was on display for all to see. John was truly her soul mate and love of her life and they are now united in heaven.
