MIDDLETON- Ms. Irene M. Byko, 93 of Middleton, passed away peacefully in her own home on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016 with her loving nieces and nephews by her side.

Born, raised and educated in Middleton, Irene was a lifelong resident of the Town of Middleton. She was raised and lived for many years on her family farm on Peabody Street in Middleton.

Ms. Byko had been employed for twenty six years as a machinist for E.C. Mitchell, Inc. of Middleton until the time of her retirement in 1993. She had previously been employed with Vulcan Electric in Danvers and United Shoe Machine Corp in Beverly.

A strong and independent person, Irene was ahead of her time as a woman in the working world. She was a dedicated and hard working woman who was devoted to her profession and was known for her attention to detail. She was a loving aunt and sister who always put family first in her life and will be deeply missed.

Irene is the last surviving member of her generation of Byko's that included 14 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Heidi Byko of Danvers, Barbara McQuarie of Topsfield, Kevin Byko of Danvers, Lillian Lermond of Peabody, Peter Byko Jr. of Derry, N.H., Raymond Byko and Sue Byko both of Cleveland, Ohio.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service which will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers, Friday, Dec. 16th at 10:30 A.M.. Visitation period prior to the service from 10 to 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Irene's memory to Care Dimension, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
