DANVERS- Mr. Leo O. Demeule Jr. 76, of Danvers, beloved husband of Leotia R. (Young) Demeule, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Beverly hospital.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Leo O. Sr. and Jacqueline (Morin) Demeule. He was raised and educated in Salem.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Demeule had been employed for many years as a Union Laborer with AFLCIO Local #14 of Salem and Local #22 of Malden. He was also an expert Donut Maker and worked at many of the family owned donut shops throughout the North Shore. He taught many of the best donut makers how to properly make donuts by hand.

Leo was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved Christmas time and would decorate his home to the nines as it was truly his favorite season. A jack of all trades and handy man, Leo built by hand many of the improvements on his home and could construct anything by hand. He enjoyed helping others with their projects and was a good friend to many. Active in the community he was a member of the Converse Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Malden and more recently spent much of his time at the Danvers Senior Center. He and his beloved wife enjoyed traveling and many day trips throughout their life together. He will be deeply missed.
