HINGHAM - Mr. Maynard L. Moyer, 81, of Hingham, formerly of Boxford, beloved husband of Jane (Ritter) Moyer, died Saturday, October 22, 2016 at South Shore Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Harold and Florence (Hillegas) Moyer. He was a graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School in East Greenville, PA. Maynard continued his education receiving his bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and his master's degree from Babson College.

An Honorably discharged veteran, Mr. Moyer proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Following his discharge from the Air Force, Maynard embarked on a long and distinguished career with the General Electric Company, retiring after 40 years of dedicated service.

A longtime resident of the Town of Boxford, Maynard was a member of the Congregational Church of Topsfield. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Surviving Maynard in addition to his wife, Jane, are his daughters, Carol Slicklen and her husband, Thomas, of Westborough, MA and Diane Horn and her husband, Martin, of Madison, NJ, his five grandchildren, Kelly and Tyler Slicklen, Martin, Jr., Charlotte and Shane Horn, his brothers, Harold and James Moyer, and his sister, Janice Zeigler.

ARRANGEMENTS: His memorial service will be held in the Congregational Church of Topsfield, 9 East Common Street, Topsfield on Sunday, October 30th at 2 P.M. Visiting hours will be held in the Peterson O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple Street (Rte 62), Danvers on Saturday, October 29th from 2 to 4 P.M. Burial will be in the Veterans National Cemetery at Bourne at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of Topsfield, 9 East Common St., Topsfield, MA 01983 for the Memorial Garden Fund.
