SALEM- Mrs. Mercedes (Candelaria) Marquez of Salem, beloved wife of the late Pablo Marquez, died, Sunday May 1st, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Calixto and Husta (Santiago) Candelaria. She was raised and educated in Puerto Rico and immigrated to the United State in 1968 settling on the North Shore. She was a long time resident of the North Shore and most recently the City of Salem.

A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mercedes was dedicated to her large and loving family. She dedicated her life to raising her 14 children and her many grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Mercedes is survived by her devoted daughters, Carmen De La Roca of Peabody, Filomena Negron of Salem, Hilda Baez of Beverly and Ana Vega of Salem, her caring sons, Alberto Marquez of Puerto Rico, Carmelo Marquez of Salem, Ignacio Marquez of Revere, Orlando Marquez of Salem, Wilfredo Marquez of Peabody, Xavier Marquez of Salem and Geraldo Marquez of Salem, her many grandchildren, her brother Ezequiel Candelaria of Beverly, her 4 sons-in-law, her 3 daughters-in-law and many extended family and friends. She was the mother of the late Pablo Marquez Jr., Julio Marquez and Ezequiel Marquez. She will be missed by all of her family may she rest in peace.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, Wednesday at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours in The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common) Salem, Tuesday, May 3rd, from 6 to 8 P.M. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit
